Dry Canyon Arts Association

Karin Harris

Bio:

The dance of color, light, and shadows found in landscapes and botanicals has always intrigued me, so I paint.

I received a BFA from Southern Oregon State University, and instructed at Colleges and Art Centers while participating in Invitational and Juried Shows throughout the Pacific NW.

Owning a gallery ~ studio in Portland’s Pearl District and leading Worldwide Art and Cultural Tours has been a rewarding part of my career.

I am grateful for the recognition and awards I have received from the Desert Plein Air Association, and the Coachella Valley Watercolor Society, both in Palm Desert, California. I am also a juried member of the Desert Art Center gallery in Palm Springs, CA., and newly active in the Dry Canyon Arts Association in Redmond, Oregon.

Old Town Artisan Studios, Ironwood Art Group, Sun City ~ Shadow Hills, and Four Seasons ~ El Dorado Hills in Southern California are venues where I teach painting and drawing.

Artist Statement:

My life's work as an artist has been an enduring exploration of nature's profound beauty, illuminated by the enchanting dance of light and shadow. With each brush stroke, I experience the inherent magic of watercolor on paper and canvas, a process that has captivated me endlessly.
