DCAA Member Profile

Dry Canyon Arts Association

Dina Rhoden

Bio:

Dina is a retired professor of English who also co-directed a social work agency for nearly two decades. She has published five books of poetry and won an NEA grant in poetry for Washington state. Now she enjoys traveling with her family and friends, writing the DCAA articles for Artist of the Month, making art, and playing with her two dogs.

Artist Statement:

I began flipping houses with my husband when I moved to Bend eight years ago. In staging the homes, I realized art was missing from the walls, so I began creating large collages. Never able to find the kind of wildly colored paper I was looking for, I used acrylic paints on fabric and canvas and cut them into fun shapes to express the joy I feel living in the PNW.
