Dry Canyon Arts Association

Help Shape a New Community Art Center in Redmond, Oregon

Dry Canyon Arts Association is located in Redmond right in the center of beautiful Oregon. Our 501c3 non-profit was started in 2006, but it wasn’t until 2019 that we really gained a foothold in Central Oregon, growing from 19 members to over 200 today. We believe our membership growth came about by providing art opportunities for our members to show their work by producing annual spring and fall art shows, the First Friday Art Walk and our Lend Me Your Walls program installing members’ art in public locations. These activities have enabled the public to appreciate local artists’ work as well.

Now we have the grandest of opportunities to create our own 3,000 sq. feet Art Center in prime downtown Redmond main street frontage. We are visualizing one main gallery, a smaller focused gallery, a gift shop, and classrooms to be available this Fall. In the near future, another 1,500 sq. feet will become workshop space for painting, glass, ceramics, etc.

We are excited beyond measure and also realize there is a lot of work ahead of us in that we have little experience in running such an art center. We are hoping that we can learn from your organization how you have made your art center successful.

It would be very helpful if you could complete the questions below. Your answers will be held in strict confidence by the committee tasked with creating and operating our art center. Thank you very much for your valuable time and expertise.
